A Day in the Life of Blackburn Rovers

I read the news today oh boy
About a football man who didn’t made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well the supporters had to laugh
They saw the photograph.

He left the club in a Bentley car
He didn’t notice that the manager had changed
A crowd of supporters stood and stared
They’d seen a change of managers before
Nobody was really sure
If he was a reject from the House of Lords.

I saw a game today oh boy
The Blackburn army had just won the war
A crowd of supporters turned away
But the press just had to look
Having seen the manager’s deathly sulk
I’d love to turn you on.

The manager fell out of bed,
Dragged a comb across his head
Found his way to the ground and drank a cup,
And looking up he noticed he was fired.
Found his coat and grabbed his hat
Made the London train in seconds flat
Found his way into first class and he had smoke,
Somebody spoke and he went into a Messi dream.

I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand managers in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the managers were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many managers it takes to fill the Albert Hall.
I’d love to turn you on
